I’m sure that some fans would be happy to finally have Chad Stahelski and David Leitch at the helm. As long as Luke will remain involved. Or if Ryan and Greg Miller will. There are many more people who should be involved, and not just based on a good director’s resume.
IMO casting should depend on the director alone, not who else wants a part. (Sure, they could always do it if they wanted, but that’s the one instance where they shouldn’t be permitted to influence the casting.)
Stahlek and Leitch would be fine choices for a sort of throwback action movie, but it’s not a blockbuster. This is more of a one-off event film. So it shouldn’t be Clint Eastwood, and the lone fanboy casting issue wouldn’t even matter. (except that if they do cast someone, many of us would want that person to have done work like Reservoir Dogs or Heat.)_________________
