1. Development History

Ever since the beginning of development for Elden Ring, a game that focuses on the fantasy elements in the JRPG genre, the development staff has been designing that game for an eternity.
Our decision to change the genre of the game was a result of the continued discovery of the fantasy genre, which had been pushed forward by Final Fantasy and other popular titles.
We had a vision of a game that would attract many people in the fantasy genre who were looking for a refreshing new take on the genre.
Elden Ring, the game that the development staff decided to make that would be the representative of the fantasy genre, was developed under the direct supervision of concept designer and creator Kazuyoshi Yaginuma.
Soon after the determination to develop Elden Ring was announced, a prototype of the game was created, and with its initial success, the decision to develop Elden Ring was confirmed.
The development staff would like to express their thanks to the staff of the game’s original development, Yasuyuki Oka, Yoshitaka Murata, Hiraku Ohashi, Kazuyoshi Yaginuma, and Satoru Shindou, who have now all received promotions to the position of Chief Producer of Bethesda Softworks.

I love the game. This is a gem in the ‘could be a typical MUD’ crowd.

Pros

– An amazing seamless world with breathtaking areas.

– An average combat system that is also top tier.

– A definite old school feel to the whole environment.

– Easy to level up and invest your inventory-stuff. You really don’t need to spend anything, outside of your best gear.

Cons

– You can’t go fast in dungeons, but I don’t care. This is a good thing.

– You can’t level up as fast as you would like to, but you won’t have a problem if you take your time.

– A bit on the cheap side with monster drops, but hey. you can’t be everything at once.

Features

– A gorgeous landscape with varying terrain and rooms. The various settings are great! (Spirits, dungeons, towns, valleys…)

– A unique class/job system that is top tier.

– A decent inventory system, that sucks just a bit.

– Monster groups get annoying, but if you take your time and make sure to attack them in a solid position, you won’t get in trouble.

– A nice mix of combat and crafting to provide the means to make the higher end gear you need to take the quest that start you off.

I’d give this game a 10 out of 10. A great game. A great gem in the action RPG fold.

This game really brings out the nerd in me. It’s a bit out of my comfort zone, but I love me some action with my RPG, and this is just the ticket.

Pros

– Tons of action.

– Efficient combat.

– Great gear.

– Good skill system.
