Accessing PHP globals from cli script, only works if run with php-cli
I have written a PHP script to generate a Web page (using a URL given a list of ids. The script works when run from the commandline with php -f, but not with php-cli. The errors are similar, except for the following:
Cannot find variable: id
Warning: Illegal string offset
The PHP code as follows:

Any ideas why this would only work when run with php -f, but not via the cli?

There were two issues:
I was missing a single quote around $id, so no id was being passed to the URL
glob() didn’t like the * in a given parameter, so it just returned an empty array
